Engineering Manager by Day, Creative Soul by Heart
I’m Gaby. I’m a Software Engineering Manager at Google, but I’ve spent my career playing many roles: Researcher, Architect, Patent-holder, and Mentor.
My journey began in Mexico, where I first fell in love with the complexity of Graph Databases. Since then, I’ve moved across borders and industries—from Oracle to LinkedIn to Microsoft—always chasing the same goal: How do we make technology feel more human and systems more resilient?
Based in the Bay Area, shaped by Mexico, and driven by the intersection of Graph Technology and Human Connection

🛠 Engineering Manager by Day
As an Engineering Manager at Google, I lead with a philosophy built on three pillars:
Organization as a Product
I treat team dynamics with the same rigor as code. By building high-trust environments, I’ve scaled teams to 13+ engineers, focusing on psychological safety as a prerequisite for high performance.
Predictable Delivery
I am a "low-drama" leader. I specialize in navigating the ambiguity of large-scale migrations and 0-to-1 product launches, ensuring that stakeholders stay informed and engineers stay focused.
Technical Innovation
My background is rooted in Big Data, Machine Learning, and Graph technology. I hold 3 US Patents for my work in automated data processing and social network analysis—technologies that have impacted how millions of people connect.
🎨 Creative Soul by Night
While my days are spent in the logic of distributed systems, my nights (and weekends) are fueled by a lifelong pursuit of "the beautiful." I believe that engaging the creative brain and being a better artist makes me a better engineer.
The Visual Storyteller
From the physical texture of painting to the precision of digital illustration, I use visual art to process the world. Whether I'm capturing a moment through photography or a canvas, it's about finding the signal in the noise.
The Pâtisserie Dreamer
I approach French pastry with a scientist’s precision and an artist’s flair. I am currently researching the chemistry of the perfect macaron, with a long-term dream of opening my own Pâtisserie to share the joy of technical and culinary craft.
The Avid Problem Solver
I am an avid fan of 3D wooden puzzles. This hobby allows me to engage with structural engineering and spatial logic in a physical medium, far away from a digital screen.
The Globe Trotter
I am a passionate traveler who believes the best way to grow is to step outside your comfort zone.
Whether I’m navigating a new city or immersing myself in a different culture, traveling sharpens my adaptability and fuels my curiosity. Every destination is a new lesson in how the world connects.
🤝 Community & Advocacy
I don’t just build software; I build communities. I am a fierce advocate for diversity in tech and have led initiatives to make the industry more inclusive:
Women@LinkedIn
Scaled our local community from 50 to over 275 members, creating a robust support network for female-identifying engineers.
Empowerment Workshops
Brought up #IAmRemarkable and workshops on Impostor Syndrome to help professionals find their voice and own their achievements.
Let’s Connect
Whether you want to discuss the future of Graph Databases, strategies for inclusive leadership, or where to find the best Pain au Chocolat in the Bay Area, I’d love to hear from you.
